About: This article introduces the Sort node, a Process node within Construct.
Location: Node panel
Table of Contents
Feature Overview
The Sort node reorders the records within the data as specified by the user. The Input Columns shows a list of all the available columns in the dataset. Multiple Input Columns can be added to the Sort By section using the left/right arrows in the center of the window.
Users also have the option to define how the records should be sorted using the Sort Direction dropdown: Ascending (smallest to largest) or Descending (largest to smallest). The default Sort Direction is Ascending.
Note: For text values, the Sort node will sort the records alphabetically A - Z (Ascending) or Z - A (Descending).
If many columns are added to the Sort By section, and their order needs to change to meet a specific column order for output, the black Move Up/Move Down arrows can be used to reorder the Column Names.
Note: The default sorting direction can be changed from the toolbar Tools > Options menu.
