FAQs
Can I use my license on my laptop and my desktop?
A single license can only be used on one computer. Licenses can be moved, however it is not a process we recommend performing routinely. If you will regularly need to use the software on both a laptop and a desktop, we recommend either using a remote desktop to access the same instance of the software from both machines. Or acquiring an additional license so that both machines are licensed individually.
Can I move my license to a different computer?
Yes! To move your license to a new computer, follow these steps:
-
Unlock the license from the current machine by going to Help > License & Register and selecting Uninstall License, then Unlock.
- Create a content backup by going to File > Database > Backup. Save the backup file (.vcb) to a location you will be able to access it from the new machine (network drive, flash drive, cloud based file share).
- Download and Install Construct on the new computer using this link:
http://update.rapidinsight.com/VeeraConstruct/Latest/VeeraConstruct64WebSetup.exe
- Restore the Construct backup. Inside of the newly installed Construct, close any licensing prompts, then go to File > Database > Restore. Select the backup file (.vcb) saved in step 2.
- License Construct on the new computer by going to Help > License & Register, and entering your serial number.
- If you receive any prompts saying your license is not valid or that the serial number does not match the machine ID, please contact RI-Support@eab.com.
Troubleshooting
I am being told my license requires daily validation and it failed
When you get a license validation error, it means that when the program tried to contact the Rapid Insight licensing server to verify your license, it was unable to connect to the network. It could be due to offline status of your machine, network latency, firewalls or something else.
You can attempt to reach out to the license server at any time by going to Help > License & Registration > Force license check from the main toolbar.
If the license validation fails multiple days in a row, you may need to have your IT department whitelist the IP address for the Rapid Insight servers so the communication is not inhibited by firewall settings. There are three servers required for Rapid Insight software:
- license.rapidinsight.com
- update.rapidinsight.com
- library.rapidinsight.com
The static IP addresses for these servers are:
-
- 54.209.43.89
- 23.21.209.111
Please reach out to RI-Support@eab.com if you need additional assistance.
I am getting a notice that my license expires in X days
We will do our best to make sure that your software access is not interrupted. Most likely, by the time you get this notice, someone from Rapid Insight will have reached out to your billing department to discuss license renewal. If you have questions, or have not heard from us regarding your renewal, please reach out to RI-Support@eab.com.
My license says it is invalid
If you get an error message that your license is invalid, it is most likely because the license is associated with a machine ID that does not match the current machine. This can happen even when the computer updates causing the software to think it is an entirely new machine. To resolve this issue, go to this location in a file explorer C:\ProgramData\Rapid Insight Inc\Veera Construct and delete the file called VeeraConstruct.ril or VeeraConstruct64.ril, then re-start the software. Alternatively, reach out to RI-Support@eab.com and request that your license be unlocked.
I don't know my license serial number
If your license is already installed, you can find the serial number by going to Help > License & Register > Serial # from the main toolbar. However, if you need your license serial number in order to install the license onto a computer, you can find it in your original Rapid Insight setup email titled "Your Rapid Insight License Information". If you do not have this email, you can always email RI-Support@eab.com and request your license information.
