About: This article introduces the Profile node, an Output node within Construct.
Location: Node panel
Table of Contents
Feature Overview
A Profile node is used in order to understand more about particular variables. This can be useful when a macro view of the dataset is needed during data exploration/cleaning. The user may choose any field to profile. Select variables from the left side and double-click or use the arrow to move variables over to the Profile Columns section. There are several options on how to profile the data. These include:
- Min Value
- Max Value
- Range (Max-Min)
- Mean
- Number of Observations
- Number of Missing Values
- Number of Unique Values
Important: Profile nodes must be output to a Report node.
All data unable to be calculated (due to variable type) will be left blank in the output.
Note: Regardless of their original column types, all data emerging from this task is converted to type Text. Because of this, care should be taken when using the output of this node.
